About Our Administrators

Mrs. Michele Krantz, Principal:

Mrs. Krantz is so happy to be the Pico Canyon Principal. After spending 24 years in the Hart District, where she was a teacher, assistant principal, director, and principal, she decided to make a move to the elementary level to have a greater impact on literacy, supporting parents, and giving students a strong foundation needed for their ongoing success. Her daughters attended Pico and she was the principal of Rancho Pico, where our students go next, for five years. Before being an educator, Mrs. Krantz was a recording engineer and performer in the music industry. You can hear her sing on the children's album Animaloopidy. Mrs. Krantz loves connecting with students and families and is honored to work with our world-class staff of educators.

Ms. Emilie Coyne, Assistant Principal:

Ms. Coyne is new to Pico Canyon this year and is thrilled to join the Pico community. She comes to us from the Burbank School District where she has served in various roles, including being a classroom teacher at the elementary level and teaching ESL to adults. She earned her bachelor's degree in liberal studies with a minor in history from Cal Poly Pomona and her master's degree in Educational Leadership from Pepperdine University. Ms. Coyne completed her Administrative Services Credential through the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Outside of school, she enjoys time with her family, reading, hiking, and volunteering. She looks forward to bringing her passion for education and dedication to student success to Pico Canyon Elementary School.
